Dying to Live
Though I can feel my aging bones dying; believe me, I’m not crying.
For the pain is but a constant, though silent reminder,
Of the enduring call to embrace life with passion, kinder, and kinder!
Our days are numbered, as the clocks of time draw near.
Halting our heartbeats, as we become plagued by consuming fear!
Imma pause, and relax as I listen to my spiritual teachers of life…
Encouraging me to breathe in its beauty, as I exhale all bitterness and strife!
Not an easy task, as someone once said:
“There is a price to be paid for every increase in consciousness. We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain.” – Alan Watts
Quote’s not mine, but I sure enough embrace its meaning and message!
