It’s cryptic, that we try so hard
to engage ourselves in something new
and give up mid-way.
It’s wasted efforts, each time.
Hobbies, friends, relationships, music;
we’re an unsatisfied, disoriented generation
of easily bored youngsters who don’t know how to commit.
We’re searching for what we have
and lazily accept that it doesn’t come to us.
We expose ourselves to an extent
that we’re constantly insulting our being with comparison.
The competition we accept and allow
is a celebration of our greatest battle
– depression.
