Depression and Positive Thinking

It seems to be a controversial subject, but I think it should not be.

I keep bumping into posts on the net where they suggest what not to say to people who suffer depression.

One of the phrases is: โ€˜Just be positive!โ€™ What is the problem here? The problem is the โ€˜justโ€™ word. ย I canโ€™t see any problem with the rest of the phrase.

They say do not suggest this to a person suffer from depression. Maybe I am the only one on this Earth but I donโ€™t agree with this. . I would say leave the โ€˜justโ€™ word out but the rest it is fine.

However the timing is very important. When the person is in the deepest struggling state, it is no point to say this. I agree with this. At that time we need to give a hug, care, support and love.

But the person is not always in the worst state. And when the person is in a better state, I donโ€™t see any problem with the idea for being positive. It should not be any problem to remind him/her for this general truth. Yes, this is a general truth. Nothing good can be achieved without being positive. No one can win a battle without being positive. No Olympic winner can achieve the gold medal without positive thinking. In every situation, we want to achieve something; we have to have a positive approach, positive thinking, and a positive belief. It is the same with an illness. It is the same with depression.

Without positive approach what can be achieved???

I would like to emphasize, that positive approach, positive thinking and a positive belief are not enough alone. I know it. This is only one part of the story. In my opinion it is the most important part. If I didnโ€™t have this ingredient I doubt I could have found the way out of depression. I should rather say, I know I could not have found my way out of this illness.

I was suffering way too many years without finding proper help. Professionals could not offer proper help to me. They could not offer help me for getting out of depression. I had to find the way on my own.

I am talking by experience that without positive thinking I could never achieve anything. I believe positive thinking needed for everyone to achieve anything in life and it is true when we want to get healthy and happy again.

Depression is the illness of the body, mind and soul. When we are suffering for many years we tend to lose beliefs. This is the hardest to restore. But on the other hand this is what we can control if we try it hard. The brain is a very clever thing. If we keep repeating negative messages we will not get positive results. If we keep repeating positive messages we have the chance to get positive results. Repeating messages alone is not enough to the success of getting healthy again. But it is the first step and the most important step in my opinion.

Yes, after this most important step we need to do other steps. We have to make efforts. Positive thinking without actions is not enough. To get healthy again is a process. This process most likely is a long and short process. However this process starts with our beliefs, which must be positive!

Maybe I am the only one in this world, who believes this, but it worked for me and I talk from personal experience.

I believe in positive thinking and I believe positive thinking was an important part in my recovery!

P.S. English is my second language so please forgive for my imperfection.

My Rendezvous With Life

My Rendezvous With Life

The treacherous waters of existence hail in their stride,As the beauty of sailing against the winds uproars in its ride.Benevolence in its yonder stirs the mirth of the true,Navigating the turbulent waves, death and I had a rendezvous.

I sought the beauty of the light that was unseen,In the depths of my muse, I found my world within.Life in its flair, trudged me into the emblems of the dark,The dreams that perspired in the seed embraced their death,As it was time for a new quest to embark.

Quaint whispers that echoed in their gallant stance,The jeers that surmounted the uncertainty galloped in their dance.Silencing the wind, bestriding the fall,I plunged into the entirety of my endeavours that call

The Beauty Of Gratitude In A World Full Of Cynicism

Ever acquainted with the phrase that the world that you exist in, the life that you embody dwells in the perception of the stance you hold for yourself. The beauty and the tragedy of life is that it is as beautiful as the optimistic lens of perception and as ugly as the pessimistic view of your being.

The strive of our endeavours and the constant effort to achieve the next massive milestone often drive us to the edges of insanity, to be in the consistent light of greatness we lose sight of the great strings of joy that bind our existence together. I Breathe In The Sauntering Air That Collapses My Being

I breathe in the sauntering air that collapses my being,I breathe through the crevices of my existence unseen.Uncertainty in its yonder strikes in bolt on the scars that nobody sees,Redemption that loves, redemption that is free, find me in the depths of my poetry.

Tales of lust ridden in smeared touches that belie,Entreated with envy, the visions of victory lie.To be or not to be in a question that yet lies,For I yearn for a world where fond passion never dies.

Enclasped in the cage of the deemed duty,Bounded in her vows, she forgot she was a thing of beauty. In a realm we live, where amour in its truth fails to stand tall,She, tired of her existence, submerges herself into the beauty that her dreams enthrall.

Chaos in its uproar hails in its darkness
