My Whole Life I’ve Been Telling Myself ”Don’t Be Afraid”

My whole life I've been telling myself ''don't be afraid."

My whole life I’ve been telling myself ”don’t be afraid.”

And it is only now that I’m realizing how stupid that is. Don’t be afraid. Like saying “don’t move out of the way when someone tries to punch you” or “don’t flinch at the heat of a fire or ”don’t blink.” Don’t be human.

I’m afraid and you’re afraid and we’re all always going to be afraid. because that’s the point.

What I should be telling myself is “be afraid, but do it anyway.β€œ

Live anyway.

  1. I don't understand your perception. I believe I am a man… And I can admit I am scared. I'm scared to lose my family. I love them with all my heart. I will do anything to protect them. If I had no choice I would die for my family so that they may live on. Yet I do not feel as though I am a boy. Yet I am scared. I'm also fearless. I'm also frightened. I'm heroic. Yet gentle. I can cry. Yet I can smile. A man who can't admit he is scared is not a man in my perceptions.

  2. Lord let go! Fear puts restrictions that only one person can overcome choice to let god ! Guess when u get hurt like me , you learn to live fearless, I live a life in fear only gave me much pain, what I fear most always happen

  3. Yeah we all consoled ourselves that we are Not afraid but actually deep to our spines we are really afraid in the cruel world… who doesn't!? But because of Love in our hearts we persevere to live…really lived….:-) πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  4. Good question. For thousands of years we have had to be afraid. To survive. Without fear the human race would not exist today. As it states similar to 'if you're not afraid of a train coming right for you, why would you move?' Your dead If you don't. It may seem smart to not be afraid but it really isn't. It's
a survival instinct. If you're afraid of something be cautious of it… But live onwards. A man can admit he is afraid… A boy however… Not always the case.
