Even the fog has the earth’s lap to embrace
When the Universe keeps shining in silence,
And autumn leaves cover gently the soil surface,
When the dusk appears there on autumn’s reliance.
Even autumn has someone to enclasp;
The cold face of autumn leaves is reeking,
The hoar is erasing fall’s defeating,
And leaves just fall giving to the branches the last grasp.
I’ll beg autumn to hold the last leaf on the bough,
To leave it there until the mist will fade away;
I’ll take all the autumn love hidden there, hoping for me it is enough.
Anchoring the needed hug when everything will be grey.
