A Young Heart

A Young Heart

Cased in layers deep

A young heart sleeps

With scarlet brilliance glow

Finitely delicate though.

Beneath grow rich arterial trees

Bear little old unhealed wounds

Waiting long to ease

With fresh drops of blood.

Echoing beats never heard or mapped

A reasonable reason stands unexplained

Grafted into many human-like frames

Dismissed only with the sweep of times.

Perhaps many failed to comprehend

True compatibility is never bodily defined

A gentle touch and caring hand

Can save this heart from the sad end.
