ego is really what he means pride in yourself is good but pig headed ego leads to hate and loneyness
oooh … I think definitions are going to cause some comments here…
i think pride under discussion the kind that will not let you admit it when you’re wrong or would rather suffer terribly rather than extend a hand offered you. The other one – being proud of your self is a great one to have..I think.
WERE TALKING ABOUT COMPASSION, NOT OWNERSHIP, WERER TALKING ABOUT DIGNITY TO OTHERS, FORGIVENSS AND HEALING NOT THE HISPANIC WAY COLD AND UNFEELING WITH NO MERCY AND IRON PRIDE NO LOVE THIS IN MY WAY HOW I STEER MY RUDDER FOR THE GOOD OF ONE ANOTHER YOU HAVE BEEN BETRAYED AND HAVE TO LEARN TO TRUSTTTTTT AND IF YOU DONT TRUST ME WHY HAVE ME?????
Untrue. Without self esteem it is impossible to accomplish anything. In this world there are very few people who will pat you on your back so get up everyday believing in yourself. If you need to find ways to prove that you are unique and talented. Do not let CS Lewis rain on your parade. It is just and opinion and everyones is entitled to theirs but that does not mean it is the truth.
So what you are proclaiming is the truth?
A person with a healthy self-esteem accepts and loves himself/herself unconditionally, acknowledging both virtues and faults in the self, and yet, in spite of everything, is able to continue to love her/himself. This quote doesn’t demean pride or self esteem.
Tushar Ravi Yes, I have learned from experience how perfect everyone in the world is emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. I am not going to argue with anyone as to knowing truths from opinions and do not claim to have common sense but I find this statement to be outdated and flawed in todays society. It seems like a lot of EGO just to proclaim such a statement. I it perhaps out of context?
I fully understand the differences that may occur in the interpretation of this quote, this is not to say that I in particular took offense to what you had said. It was just a passing remark I made to your observation, I fully appreciate your point of view. To quote Voltaire- “I may not agree with a word that you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”
Excuse me! Could you lend me this picture, admin? I really like it and its content 🙂 <3
